NIA Arrests Syed Salahuddin's Son in Terror Funding Case

Syed Shahid Yousuf used to receive funds through international wire money transfer from Aijaz Ahmed Bhat an absconding accused

"Yusuf was arrested today in Delhi after he was called for questioning at the NIA headquarters in an old case of funding registered in 2011", the IANS reported. The arrest of Syed Shahid Yusuf has also snubbed the claims made by the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had said that the appointment of a new interlocutor to initiate dialogues might affect the investigations by the NIA.

The agency alleged that Shahid is "one of several Indian contacts of Bhat" who have been in telephonic contact with him to receive the money transfer codes.

Adding further to this NIA spokesperson said, "We have all the documents on money transfers as well as call details".

Comey Fesses Up, Claims Ownership Of Suspected Twitter Account
Reinhold Niebuhr was a well-known theologian about whom Comey wrote an undergraduate thesis at the College of William & Mary. President Donald Trump fired Comey in May. " That certainly sounded like some boring things that Comey would tweet".

The NIA, registered the case in 2011, invigorated its investigation recently.

It is learnt that Syed Shahid Yusuf works in the horticulture department of Jammu and Kashmir state government. "It is on the basis of this irrefutable evidence that we have gone ahead with Yusuf's arrest", a NIA officer said. Two others, Mohd. Maqbool Pandit and Aijaz Ahmed Bhat are absconding. For terrorist activities in parts of Kashmir Valley, the NIA is probing illegal funding, including through hawala channels. Pandit, like Aijaz Bhat, has been an active Hizbul Mujahideen militant and is now based in Pakistan.

The NIA in a statement charged 42-year-old Shahid Yousuf of "receiving and collecting funds through global wire money transfer" from a Saudi Arabia-based Aizaz Ahmad Bhat, who is accused of being a member of the Pakistan-based militant group. The Hizb founder's son, according to an NIA official, received at least four instalments of money in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The NIA is an autonomous agency, Singh reiterated, suggesting that the talk process will not stall any of the investigations that are underway.
