Bergdahl judge says he can be fair despite comments from President Trump

U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl pleaded guilty Monday to charges of misbehavior before the enemy and desertion

United States army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, who last week pleaded guilty on Monday to deserting his post in Afghanistan in 2009, has said his captors were more "honest" with him than the army has been since his release three years ago, Fox News reported. What are the events that led to this moment?

Bergdahl has already pleaded guilty to both desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.

Almost eight years subsequently the enigma of what happened to Bergdahl is deciphered but the outcome of his resolution to abandon is still on hold.

Obama's successor, Donald Trump, heaped criticism on Bergdahl during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Why is Bergdahl on trial?

Bergdahl, from Hailey, Idaho, was captured soon after walking off his remote post in 2009.

Myers observed from the operations center as exceptional as the operation forces were hauled to search for Bergdahl. Three months later, his family negotiated his release with his captors.

Boyce sets a very weak precedent; as Christensen told us, its influence on the Bergdahl proceedings will depend on whether judges like Nance read the brief in the first place.

Grasham reportedly had several child actors among his around 50 clients, which APA is now working to place with other agencies. He added: 'We were at his apartment when he got on top of me and fondled me.

In an exclusive interview obtained by ABC previous year, Bergdahl said he didn't think he would be able to get a fair trial after Trump's comments that he should be shot.

In 2015, an Army Sanity Board evaluation said Bergdahl had schizotypal personality disorder. He arrived at the courthouse Monday wearing the Army's dress blues uniform, and spent much of the hearing looking down at the table in front of him. And depending on the outcome of his sentencing hearing, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

It's unclear if prosecutors and the defense reached some sort of agreement ahead of sentencing about Bergdahl's fate.

Upon conversing to various soldiers encompassing, a former Army lawyer, in preliminary hearing about how they'd penalize Bergdahl. He was eventually released in a controversial prisoner swap in exchange for five Guantanamo Bay detainees.

Bowe Bergdahl a "traitor, " as President Trump says he is, or does he deserve some leniency?

Bergdahl elected to be tried by a judge, not a panel of military officers, in August.

On Oct. 23, Judge Nance allowed attorneys to question him regarding the impact of Trump's statements, and he ultimately delayed the sentencing until Oct. 25 so he could thoroughly consider the defense motion, the Associated Press reports. Another soldier is still unable to use his right hand; and a third soldier suffered a leg wound that ended his career as a Navy SEAL.

He indicated he would issue a written ruling later on the defense request to have the case thrown out over Trump's comments.
