Dozens feared dead in attacks in Afghanistan

A senior security official said the exact number of casualties was unknown but that security forces at the scene had removed at least 30 bodies

On Aug. 25, a similar suicide attack at the same mosque claimed by pro-Daesh militants left up to 50 people dead.

It was the second suicide bombing in the Afghan capital in 24 hours and the seventh major assault in Afghanistan since Tuesday, taking the total death toll to more than 200, with hundreds more wounded.

No one claimed responsibility for that attack.

Habib Wardak, a security analyst, SAID that both the Taliban and ISIL "are trying to portray that they have the ability to inflict damage not just to the Afghan security forces and the Aghan government, but also to its worldwide counterparts wherever and whenever they want to".

A separate bombing saw at least another 20 killed at a mosque in the middle of the country.

"The minibus was carrying army trainees to their homes from Marshal Fahim military academy", Almas told AFP.

Seven policemen killed in Pakistan blast
Mineral-rich Balochistan, where Gwader is located, has been plagued for decades by a separatist insurgency and sectarian killings. Sarfraz Bugti said that Pakistan will take the war against terrorists and their facilitators to their ultimate conclusion.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility.

"This attack in #Kabul shows the insurgents are desperate and can not win" against Afghanistan's security and defence forces, it said. As per initial reports, no casualty was reported in the attack.

Interior ministry spokesman Najib Danish confirmed the attack toll on Twitter.

Thursday: The Taliban killed at least 58 Afghan security forces in attacks that included an assault that almost wiped out an army camp in southern Kandahar province.

The militants then razed the base in the Chashmo area of Maiwand district to the ground, according to the defence ministry.

The last attack on a Shiite mosque in Kabul happened on September 29 as Muslims prepared to commemorate Ashura, one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar.
