Frankie Muniz reveals he can't remember starring in Malcom in the Middle

Stars official Twitter

Malcolm in the Middle star, Frankie Muniz has revealed that he can't remember most of his time spent on the set as a result of numerous concussions.

Over the past five years, Muniz has suffered from mini-strokes, or transient ischemic attacks, which cut off blood supply to the brain. However, he didn't say for sure that these events are what led to his inability to remember playing Malcolm on the beloved show.

"I love to be able to look back", the former child actor said.

"It makes me a little sad". "To be honest, I've never really talked about it", he said.

The Dancing with the Stars clip also included an interview with Muniz's former TV father, Bryan Cranston.

Celebrity race vehicle driver and actor Frankie Muniz poses before winning the 29th Annual Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California, April 9, 2005. Alongside his girlfriend's journal, he'll have so many wonderful videos circulating of his Dancing with the Stars performances, which will help him remember the unbelievable experience. Though most concussions don't have long-term effects, repeated TBIs - like the kind Muniz experienced - may add up to "cumulative" neurological problems, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). "It'll be my job, I will tell him 'remember this, remember that on Malcolm?' What a life for you". Remember that from Malcolm? I think it nearly feels like it wasn't me.

Meanwhile, dance partner Carson is happy that Muniz's short-term memory is fine, so he can remember the steps.

So Muniz's most memorable year is this one, because he's learned to live in the present.

He doesn't know what the cause of his memory loss is but it could be related to injuries sustained during his career racing cars. "There's no negative feelings, I just don't remember". Following the end of the series in 2006 he became a race vehicle driver, competing until 2009.
