Nate Is Gone, But Rain Chances Remain

Tropical Depression Nate moves northeast of Huntsville by early evening taking most of the heavy rain, strong winds, and a minimal risk of severe weather out of the Tennessee Valley by 7 PM.

The remnants of Hurricane Nate will bring steady, and sometimes heavy, rain to ME on Columbus Day, according to the National Weather Service offices in Caribou and Gray.

South Jersey will only have some scattered showers, though brief heavy rain and wind gusts up to 30 mph will be possible through the morning hours across a large swath of the state. Throughout the day, skies will remain overcast, with cloudiness slightly diminishing toward the evening.

In all, we are expecting 0.75 to 1.5 inches, with a southeast to northwest gradient.

Friday looks partly sunny and comfortable with highs in the low and mid 70s. Highs today will top out in the mid to upper 70s.

Saudi King Salman arrives in Russian Federation for first visit
Saudi King Salman may seek assurances from Moscow that Iran will not have a permanent role in Syria. King Salman paid back the compliments by saying Russian Federation was a "friendly country".

The rainfall deficit in many areas is roughly equal to that which Nate has the potential to deliver, according to AccuWeather.com. The clouds and showers knock highs back to the mid 70s. The heaviest rain will likely stay north of Delmarva, but you'll probably need the umbrella at times.

We will start the morning with rain early as the remnants of Nate make its way into our area.

Slight chances still exist through the afternoon, but the majority of the showers will clear out by late morning. Highs in the mid 80s, with heat index values in the low 90s.

Tuesday should be dry with a high of 80 degrees.

Despite the rain, Buttrick said daily high temperatures will be unseasonably warm over the next couple of days with high humidity.
