Police seek eyewitnesses to Natural History Museum crash

A man held after a vehicle struck pedestrians outside a London museum on Saturday has been released, while remaining under investigation.

The arrested man was one of nine people taken to hospital following the crash, and after receiving treatment was taken for questioning at a police station.

The crash Saturday afternoon on Exhibition Road in London's busy museum district was initially feared to be a possible terrorist attack similar to incidents earlier this year when extremists in vehicles attacked pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and on London Bridge.

The incident has been confirmed by the police as a road accident which is not "terror-related".A man has been detained by the police.

A man has been detained but not formally arrested, the police said.

The Metropolitan Police said they received a call just after 2.20pm yesterday to inform them of the incident.

A man was detained at the scene on Saturday after a vehicle apparently mounted the pavement outside the popular tourist attraction in the South Kensington area of the United Kingdom capital.

Amaju Pinnick: "The Super Eagles need to keep calm against Zambia"
We are fully focused and ready. "They know us, so we have to change a few things, be more risky so as to surprise them". Our team has shown professionalism, dedication and determination to be in this position", captain John Obi Mikel said.

Video footage posted on Twitter showed a man being restrained on the ground by members of the public in an area popular with families with young children. Photographs showed a dented silver auto and a man being pinned to the ground outside the museum.

In a statement to the police stated that injured several pedestrians, however, the BBC correspondent from the scene said their injuries were minor.

Pictures and footage from the scene in Exhibition Road showed street damage and a massive police presence in the upmarket area, home to the NHM, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A).

The museum said on Twitter that it was working with the police after "a serious incident" outside the museum and would provide more information later.

Britain's security level for terrorism is in the "severe" category, the second highest, meaning an attack is considered to be highly likely.

A witness said there were large numbers of police and paramedics at the scene although the atmosphere appeared calm.
