Allegations against Amit Shah's son: Trinamool seeks CBI probe

Launching a scathing attack against the editors and owners of The Wire for publishing an article on Amit Shah's son Jay Shah's business, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union railway minister Piyush Goyal declared to initiate "civil and criminal defamation proceedings against the news publication suing them for Rs 100 crore".

The Trinamool Congress today took a swipe at the BJP, wondering if it would now use CBI or ED to probe the allegations against BJP chief Amit Shahs son, just as it has been quick to use these agencies against other political parties. "Now his claims have been proven hollow", CPI leader D Raja said.

The charge was rejected by the BJP and Shah's son, Jay Amit Shah, who termed the story "false, derogatory and defamatory".

Sibal, while talking to the media persons, here said the total assets, number of employees Jay Shah's company had, all these questions are a mystery and probe is needed to reveal the complete truth.

The Aam Aadmi Party, meanwhile, announced that it would protest Monday in front of Amit Shah's house in Ahmedabad, demanding further investigation in the case.

He has lessons for himself, too. "The eventual target is to secure progression to the next stage while taking one game at a time". The Colombians went in search of an equaliser after the break, with their best chance falling to substitute Deiber Caicedo.

Soon after Shah led a march to the CPI (M) office, the communist party criticised the "Jan Raksha Yatra" saying it was aimed at diverting public attention from the growing discontent against the Modi government. The Congress sought answers from Prime Minister and the BJP president, and demanded a probe by the ED and the CBI.

Sibal was replying to the clarification of Cabinet Minister Piyush Goyal given in defence of Jay Shah.

"I have chose to prosecute the author, editor (s) and the owner (s) of the aforesaid news website for criminal defamation and sue them for an amount of Rs 100 Crore", Jay said.

The demand from the opposition parties came after a media report, citing filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), said that the turnover of Jay Amit Shah-owned Temple Enterprise zoomed by around 16,000 times during 2015-16 at around Rs 80 crore over the previous year. Offence will come to light when we get to know why the loan was sanctioned. "He should be defending the government", the former law minister told reporters. "Jay carries out a fully legitimate and lawful business on commercial lines which are reflected in income tax (filings) and transactions in banks".

The Congress leader also questioned Goyal the reason behind giving loan from his ministry in the name of startups to Jay Shah and asked him to reveal the number of companies they have provided loan for the same goal. "Why is PM silent?.L K Advani had resigned after the Jain Hawala diary episode while its then party president Bangaru Laxman had quit after a corruption expose".
