OJ Simpson photographed practicing his putting after prison release

OJ Simpson back in Las Vegas

In video obtained by ABC News, Simpson can be heard saying to the paparazzi, "I'm in the auto for that last five hours so how would I know how it feels to be out". She said if the state corrections department finds Simpson is allowed to relocate then he should be subject to the "most stringent and secure conditions of supervision". Simpson was convicted in 2008 of enlisting some men he barely knew, including two who had guns, to retrieve from two sports collectibles sellers some items that Simpson said were stolen from him a decade earlier.

Simpson had been serving time for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 10 other charges over an attack at a Las Vegas hotel in 2001.

"We needed to do this to ensure public safety and to avoid any possible incident", Nevada Department of Corrections spokesperson Brooke Keast said, according to the Associated Press. The release was stealth, because prison officials wanted to avoid a media crush.

She acknowledged Nevada prison officials misled the media with word about the timing and location of Simpson's release.

LaVergne went on: 'And I said, "Well, I hope nobody tries to pin any of this on you"'.

Many in the black community saw Simpson's acquittal as a form of karmic payback for the Rodney King beating, which sparked the LA riots three years earlier. Simpson was released from Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada after nine years on October 1 and has already begun pounding the pavement looking for a paycheck.

But in 2008, Simpson, who could never shake the stigma of the bloody glove, was jailed for 33 years over a weird armed robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas.

Fred and Kim Goldman said they will continue to pursue payment of a $33.5 million judgment awarded in 1997 after Simpson was found civilly liable for the deaths. THR reports that A+E Networks and Discovery have also turned him down.

He has plans to move to Florida but is for now staying at a home in Vegas, where Stephen Paddock murdered 58 people at a music festival when he fired hundreds of rounds into a crowd on Sunday night.
