Insurance Companies Now Able to do Business with Credit Unions
ALBANY, NY (09/07/2010)(readMedia)– Governor Paterson signed legislation on Aug. 30 that will enable insurance companies to deposit funds in credit unions. Non life insurance companies are now able to invest up to 0,000 in share certificates with credit unions where they are eligible for membership through this legislation. Executives of defunct South Florida insurance companies arrested
Two South Florida insurance executives were arrested Wednesday for falsifying documents stating how much their companies had in reserve accounts. First Commercial Insurance Co. President and CEO Luis M. Espinosa, 60, and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rene M. Cambert, 55, were arrested on eight first-degree felony charges of filing false or misleading financial statements.
